The short version: Don't Break Prod does not collect your personal data. It has no servers of its own, no analytics, no ads, and no trackers. Your progress lives on your device. The one time your information leaves the app is if you choose to turn on Apple's Game Center, and that data is handled by Apple, not by us.
On your device
Everything the app remembers about you stays on your device. That includes your quiz answers and review schedule, saved questions, your daily streak and incident history, your chosen level, and your reminder settings.
This information is stored locally on your iPhone. The app has no backend, so none of it is uploaded to us or transmitted anywhere. Deleting the app, or using Reset progress in the Profile tab, removes it.
Reminders
If you turn on the daily reminder, the app schedules local notifications on your device at the time you pick. These are created and delivered entirely on your iPhone by iOS. No reminder data is sent to any server, and you can turn them off at any time in the Profile tab or in iOS Settings.
Game Center
The leaderboard is optional and only works if you choose to sign in to Apple's Game Center. When you play, the app submits your all-time score to an Apple-hosted leaderboard so you can compare it with other players.
Game Center is Apple's service, not ours. When you use it, your Game Center nickname, avatar, and score can be visible to other Game Center players on the leaderboard. Apple collects and manages this information as part of Game Center, under Apple's own terms:
The app does not run its own servers and does not store your scores anywhere itself. It only hands the number to Game Center. If you would rather not appear on the leaderboard, do not sign in to Game Center, or sign out at any time in Settings › Game Center. The rest of the app keeps working normally.
Third parties
The app contains no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking software. It does not track you across other apps or websites, and it does not build a profile of you. The only outside service it can talk to is Apple's Game Center, and only when you opt in.
Feedback
If you use the flag button to report a question, the app opens your email app with a short prewritten message addressed to the developer. Nothing is sent automatically. Only what you choose to include and send by email reaches us, and it is used solely to fix or improve that question.
Housekeeping
The app is a study tool for system design interviews and is not directed at children. Because it collects no personal data, it gathers nothing from anyone, regardless of age.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date at the top. Continued use of the app after a change means the updated policy applies.
